Ways to get Involved

Special interest groups are individual groups devoted to discussion, innovation, and education in one specific model or element of integrated care. SIGs are a member-only benefit of CFHA. Currently, we have 5 special interest groups:

  • Families and Health
  • Medically Unexplained Symptoms
  • Pediatrics
  • Primary Care Behavioral Health (and the Serving Latinx Populations in Primary Care Behavioral Health Workgroup)
  • Psychiatry in Primary Care (currently run by CFHA)

As a SIG leader, you will work with the other leaders and CFHA Staff to run SIG meetings, organize webinars, and more. This is a great way to engage with other members interested in a specific element of integrated care, with a time commitment of about 6 hours a month. SIG leadership positions include (but are not limited to):

  • Co-chair
  • Secretary
  • Early Career Professional Representative or Student Representative

If you are interested, email info@cfha.net to see when the next round of elections are taking place.

The Research and Evaluation Committee functions similarly to the other SIGs, but is open to members and non-members and reports to the CFHA Board of Directors. The REC’s goal is to grow interest and enthusiasm among CFHA members regarding research and to create opportunities for CFHA members to actively participate in research and program evaluation related to collaborative, integrated care. As a REC leader, you will work with the other leaders and CFHA staff to run monthly meetings, organize webinars, and more. This is a great way to engage with other members interested in research in integrated care, with a time commitment of about 6 hours a month. REC leadership positions include (but are not limited to):

  • Co-chair
  • Secretary
  • Early Career Professional Representative or Student Representative

The Just Medicine Committee is a group of CFHA members tasked with helping CFHA live out its values around diversity, equity, and inclusion in its human resources, products, and operations. The Just Medicine Committee is one of only two standing sub-committees authorized by the board and tasked with helping us adhere to our core values. (The other is the Research & Evaluation Committee.) Activities of the committee include hosting webinars, reviewing CFHA produced content, providing recommendations to the Board and staff and helping to plan events at the annual conference.

If you are interested in joining, email our staff at info@cfha.net.

CFHA Learns and Shares is a product of CFHA geared toward promoting learning and sharing around integrated healthcare. Most content on CFHA Learns is produced by CFHA members and vetted by the Content Review Committee. The Content Review Committee reviews submitted material for the platform to ensure that it is in line with the training goals and objectives of CFHA. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to participate in the development of this platform, with a minimal time commitment (~5 hours a year). If you are interested, please fill out the reviewer form here. If you have any questions, reach out to Martha Saucedo at msaucedo@cfha.net.
