Do you care deeply about integrated care and about a more equitable and diverse future for healthcare? Then consider applying to CFHA’s Just Medicine Committee (JMC) Fellowship. Designed for an up-and-coming professional eager to work closely with JMC, CFHA Staff and Board, the Fellowship will provide invaluable experience in enacting diversity, equity and inclusion strategies to a membership association. Job Description

The goal of the JMC Fellow is to assist the co-chairs and CFHA Staff in advancing the committee’s activities, including extending the BOD’s mission for social justice, equity and diversity within the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association. The Fellowship will primarily focus on realizing the CFHA DEI Action Plan that has been developed over the past two years, to establish metrics and ensure progress towards a more just, equitable, inclusive, and diverse CFHA. Experience with diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice initiatives is highly preferred, as is experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and/or analysis. The Fellow will work closely with CFHA Staff on deliverables and have the support of the JMC co-chairs. The Fellowship will be conducted remotely.

Job duties include (not exhaustive):

  1. Assist CFHA staff and JMC with DEI initiatives, including focus groups, managing survey data collection and analysis, and developing reports (supervised and supported by JMC co-chairs and members).
    • Phase I (Jan-June 2024): Revise the membership sign-up form to track CFHA membership demographics more robustly. Work with CFHA staff on website.
    • Phase II (April 2024-2025): Conduct and analyze member focus groups regarding diversity and inclusion barriers still present in CFHA; triangulate with data from the revised sign-up form.
  2. Support member-facing JMC tasks:
    • Coordinate the recruitment of new JMC members
    • Develop and disseminate JMC emails, flyers, and/or newsletters
    • Serve as JMC champion at the annual CFHA conference (registration paid)
  3. Support internal JMC tasks:
    • Attend JMC meetings and take minutes
    • Coordinate the review of annual conference proposals to highlight DEI content
  4. The JMC fellow may also attend Board meetings in conjunction with JMC co-chairs if desired, to help ensure the Board in conversations attend to CFHA’s values listed above
  5. Total expected monthly hours: 2-6 hours per month
  • Familiarity with integrated care, primary care, and behavioral health adequate for the role.
  • Approachable, enthusiastic, demonstrate unwavering integrity, and a positive demeanor.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written communication.
  • The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and effectively collaborate on multiple projects within a team.
  • Strategic thinking, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • The capacity to develop and monitor key metrics that align with the JMC’s mission and CFHA DEI Action Plan is a desired skill, with support available as needed.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.

The JMC Fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend for the 2024 calendar year with the option to renew each year.
