This training equips Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) and other primary care team members with skills for effective single-session interventions within the PCBH model. The program includes a 3-hour training session, practical implementation over three months, and two coaching sessions spaced three months apart.

Who should enroll in this course?

Behavioral health professionals, primary care providers, and support staff involved in integrated care.

What You Will Learn

This course will go through the core components of the PCBH model and the rationale behind single-session interventions. You’ll learn practical techniques for maximizing the impact of brief encounters, managing time effectively within a single visit, and structuring interventions that produce meaningful change even without follow-up. You’ll also receive hands-on coaching and personalized feedback as you plan for real-world implementation in your own primary care setting.

The training includes two live coaching sessions, giving you the opportunity to workshop your approach, ask questions, and refine your technique with direct guidance from the speakers.

By applying the strategies taught in this training, you’ll deliver more efficient, higher-impact behavioral health interventions, strengthen patient engagement in a single visit, and build confidence in your ability to create lasting change without relying on multiple sessions.

Materials & Resources

You’ll receive an onboarding email to help you prepare, along with post-session handouts, a link to the session recording, and practical resources to support you as you apply these techniques in your practice.
