In this presentation, as a part of the April CFHA Primary Care Behavioral Health Special Interest Group meeting, participants addressed privilege, social determinants of health, and racism and their impact on the care we provide to Black patients in integrated primary care. Using videos, open dialogue, and experiential exercises, participants addressed individual and systemic level factors that contribute to health disparities in Black patients. Lastly, participants discussed strategies providers can use in interventions with Black patients.
