A Workforce for Integration

Webinar Description

As behavioral health services in primary care settings become more widely implemented across the country, the need for skilled providers in this area grows. In response to this demand, initiatives to cross-train behavioral health providers are under way. The goal of these training programs is to ensure these providers can successfully integrate their various disciplines into the primary care field.

Dr. Alexander Blount, Director, Center for Integrated Primary Care and Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, will review models of integration and how these impact workforce calculations. He will discuss the heritages of the roles that are evolving and what roles are still in flux. Dr. Blount will offer insight into the training needed to support these roles and identify options for training.

This webinar is presented by The Office of Integrated Healthcare Research and Policy in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The webinar series is made possible with funding from the California Mental Health Services Authority Integrated Behavioral Health Project in partnership with the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association and the AHRQ Academy for Integrating Behavioral Health and Primary Care.
