SUMMARY:Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health Leadership
DESCRIPTION:The rapid development of behavioral health integration around the nation in health systems with multiple primary care sites has led to the emergence of a new role: “director\,” or “supervisor\,” or “lead” of behavioral health integration (BHI). A number of people in this role feel unprepared for the demands that it imposes. They have risen to leadership positions on their clinical skills\, but they have little training or experience in management and leadership in an organization.  The new leaders find themselves needing to address issues such as hiring and onboarding\, staff evaluations\, design of program and patient metrics\, data reporting and quality improvement\, and helping health system authorities understand how much behavioral health services can add to the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare services of the organization as a whole. \nThis course\, led by Dr. Alexander (Sandy) Blount\, a long-time leader in the field\, is a unique opportunity to receive mentorship\, peer support and skill development for the clinician-leader. \nThe course will meet every other week for a calendar year (23 meetings) via Zoom. 34.50 CEUS for psychologists and social workers will be available.

SUMMARY:Community Conversation: Recent Federal Actions and Their Impact on Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:CFHA Community Conversations provide integrated care colleagues an opportunity to engage in relaxed dialogues and voice their experiences & questions around high interest topics. \nThis month\, join superparticipants Dan Mullin and Christina New for a discussion on Recent Federal Actions and Their Impact on Healthcare. In recent weeks\, there has been an overwhelming surge of federal proposals with the potential to significantly affect various sectors of healthcare\, from veterans’ services to community health centers\, grant-reliant academic medical centers\, and marginalized patient populations. This community conversation is intended to bring us together to discuss these potential changes\, share insights\, and work towards collective solutions. \nWe recognize the anxiety and uncertainty that often accompany discussions around federal policy changes\, but our focus will be on actionable steps to resist harmful changes\, advocate for better policies\, and support each other through these challenging times.  \nCommunity Conversations take place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1pm ET // 12pm CT // 11am MT // 10am PT.

SUMMARY:School-Based Integrated Care Workgroup
DESCRIPTION:The CFHA School-Based Integrated Care Workgroup\, led by Lindsey Overstreet and Ben Hillyard\, brings together professionals dedicated to bridging the gap between schools\, primary care\, and behavioral health. This group explores innovative models\, such as the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM)\, PCBH\, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)\, and school-based health clinics\, to enhance mental health services within school settings. Through shared learning\, policy\, advocacy\, and implementation strategies\, the workgroup aims to break down silos and improve access to high-quality\, coordinated care for children and adolescents\, with a particular focus on the following goals: \n\n1) Identify and Share Best Practices – Gather and share strategies that help schools\, clinics\, and behavioral health providers work together more effectively in a fragmented system.\n2) Find and Organize Key Resources – Collect useful tools\, templates\, and funding opportunities to support school-based behavioral health programs.\n\nIn April\, join us to hear from John Crocker about the school’s perspective in partnership with IBH. John Crocker is the director of BH at a large MA school district. He is also the founder and director of the MA School Based MH consortium. The consortium has 175 districts across MA in their membership. \n  \nThis group meets quarterly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 11am ET // 10am CT // 9am MT // 8am PT.
