SUMMARY:Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health Leadership
DESCRIPTION:The rapid development of behavioral health integration around the nation in health systems with multiple primary care sites has led to the emergence of a new role: “director\,” or “supervisor\,” or “lead” of behavioral health integration (BHI). A number of people in this role feel unprepared for the demands that it imposes. They have risen to leadership positions on their clinical skills\, but they have little training or experience in management and leadership in an organization.  The new leaders find themselves needing to address issues such as hiring and onboarding\, staff evaluations\, design of program and patient metrics\, data reporting and quality improvement\, and helping health system authorities understand how much behavioral health services can add to the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare services of the organization as a whole. \nThis course\, led by Dr. Alexander (Sandy) Blount\, a long-time leader in the field\, is a unique opportunity to receive mentorship\, peer support and skill development for the clinician-leader. \nThe course will meet weekly from February 10\, 2025 – June 30\, 2025 (21 meetings) via Zoom. 31.5 CEUS for psychologists or social workers.

SUMMARY:Measurement With Meaning: Practical Competency in Measurement-Based Care for Clinicians and Leaders
DESCRIPTION:This learning series is designed to help clinicians\, supervisors\, and healthcare leaders develop practical competency in Measurement-Based Care through a structured\, interactive learning experience. Participants will learn how to collect\, share\, and act on patient-reported outcome data in ways that improve clinical decision-making\, strengthen patient engagement\, and support system-level improvement. \nThe course intentionally brings together clinical and operational perspectives\, helping participants understand how individual clinical skills and organizational workflows must work together for MBC to succeed. \nBy the end of the series\, participants will develop a Measurement-Based Care Implementation Blueprint tailored to their own clinical setting.

SUMMARY:Certification in BHC ORS Administration Course: Advancing PCBH Clinical Standards
DESCRIPTION:The Behavioral Health Observation Rating Scale (ORS) is a groundbreaking evaluation tool developed through years of collaboration with a dedicated cohort of Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) across a multi-organizational network. Designed to standardize the assessment of BHC skill development\, the ORS helps supervisors identify strengths\, target areas for growth\, and deliver focused feedback. This certification empowers supervisors to formally “certify” their BHC supervisees—bringing prestige and standards-based recognition to the BHC workforce. \nPurpose-built for real-time use in clinical settings\, the ORS evaluates core PCBH competencies\, including team communication\, documentation efficiency\, and advanced clinical techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and contextual assessment. As an evaluator\, you’ll gain a unique advantage by observing and assessing both live and recorded patient interactions\, producing actionable scores and structured feedback to strengthen BHC clinical performance. \nElevate your role as a mentor and evaluator in the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model through CFHA’s endorsed certification program. Earning this certification validates your expertise in coaching clinicians and positions you as a leader in CFHA’s PCBH Clinical Competency Certification initiative—helping shape the future of clinical excellence in integrated care. \nThis training occurs over two days (June 3 and 4) and offers 8 CEUs.

SUMMARY:Teaching Integrated Care to Graduate Students: A Comprehensive Faculty Curriculum
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to give faculty in mental health graduate programs everything needed for offering a new course (or enhancing an existing one) in integrated primary care. Course attendees will be provided all of the foundational materials for offering a class (lecture slides\, assignments\, tests\, etc.) and will have the option of two coaching sessions for support with teaching the materials. \nDespite the robust job opportunities for behavioral health professionals in primary care\, relatively few mental health graduate programs offer coursework in integrated primary care. This course is designed to make it easy for faculty to develop new integrated care coursework in their graduate school.
