Vision and Mission Statement

The Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA) promotes comprehensive and cost-effective models of healthcare delivery that integrate mind and body, individual and family, patients, providers and communities. CFHA achieves this mission through education, training, partnering, consultation, research and advocacy.

CFHA achieves its mission by supporting the effective and sustainable integration of behavioral health within models of patient and family centered care across the healthcare continuum. CFHA’s embrace of all guilds and stakeholders is reflected in its growing membership of leading innovative thinkers, scientists, educators, and practitioners who come together to share learning as colleagues and mentors.  In service of the goal to advance understanding and effective implementation of behaviorally enhanced healthcare, CFHA plays a distinct role in the healthcare community by leveraging its collective strengths in:

  • Modeling inter-disciplinary leadership and collaboration;
  • Facilitating connections and collaborative work across professional silos;
  • Developing the knowledge base of integrated, collaborative family healthcare;
  • Hosting educational programs designed to enable stakeholders to acquire knowledge, practical skills, relational competencies and resources;
  • Creating partnerships that strengthen the ties between education, research, service and policy in the delivery of integrated, collaborative healthcare;
  • Contributing to and disseminating the premier journal in collaborative, family healthcare, “Families, Systems, and Health”;
  • Advocating for our shared perspective regionally, nationally, and internationally.
