There are three options for individual membership—Individual Professional, Post-Doc/Early Career, and Student.

If I join in October, do I still have to pay the full year-long membership fee?

All memberships expire December 31, and all members pay the full membership fee. If you join in October-December, however, your membership will expire December 31 of the FOLLOWING year. (Ex. If you join in October of 2016, your membership will not expire until December 31, 2017. If you join in September of 2016, your membership will still expire on December 31, 2016.)

 

What are the benefits of becoming a CFHA Member?

Membership benefits include an annual subscription to the Families, Systems and Health journal, participation in special interest groups, access to listserv discussion groups, conference and regional training discounts, and more.

Why is a CFHA membership based on a calendar year?

In order to help maximize the benefits of CFHA membership, we align our membership period with the subscription cycle for our official journal "Families, Systems & Health".  All members will receive all four quarterly journals for the calendar year period in which they are members.  Additionally, members receive substantial conference registration discounts during their membership year. 

 

When I try to reset my password, why didn’t I receive the email to reset?

The system sends password reset instructions to the email you have listed on your member profile. If this is not up to date, you will not receive the email. Please contact info@cfha.net and we will be able to manually reset your password and/or username. You will then be able to login to update your profile.

 

When I try to join the system, why is it saying that I’m already a member?

Either you were a member long ago, or your email was somehow added to our system from a contact list at some point. The easiest way to bypass this is to use a different email or username to sign up, you can contact info@cfha.net with the issue. We will either reset your record with the current username and/or password or delete the old record that is causing the problem.


 

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

How do I join a Special Interest Group?

If you are a member, you can join a Special Interest Group by completing the following steps:

1. Sign-in to your account on CFHA's website: www.cfha.net

2. Click "Manage Profile" on the right side of your screen

3. Select "Edit Bio" on the left side of your screen

4. Scroll down the page to the "Professional Information" section and find "Join Pediatrics Special Interest Group". Select "Yes" in the drop down menu.

5. Scroll down and select "save changes"

6. You're all set!

Special Interest Groups are available to CFHA members. If you are not a member, you can join HERE.

How do I participate in regularly occurring SIG Meetings?

Once you have opted into any SIG that you’d like to participate in through your membership profile, you will be added to that SIG’s respective ListServ email list. The SIG leadership will send out monthly reminders for meetings with private call information through this listserv.

How do I access the CFHA ListServ Discussion Groups?

These discussion groups are a membership benefit. When you join CFHA as a member, you will be added to the main CFHA ListServ. If you would like to be added to other ListServ’s for any of the Special Interest Groups, just follow these instructions:

1. Sign-in to your account on CFHA's website: www.cfha.net

2. Click "Manage Profile" on the right side of your screen

3. Select "Edit Bio" on the left side of your screen

4. Scroll down the page to the "Professional Information" section and find "Join Pediatrics Special Interest Group". Select "Yes" in the drop down menu.

5. Scroll down and select "save changes"

6. You're all set!

Why are my emails bouncing from the ListServ?

            There are two reasons your emails could be bouncing from the ListServ:

1.     You’ve changed your email address but haven’t updated your email address in your member profile

2.     Your membership has expired and you’ve been removed from the ListServ

If you have changed your email address, please update it as soon as possible in your member profile. We use the email in your member profile for the ListServ, so this is the only way for us to update your email address.

If your membership has expired, login to renew your membership and you will be re-added to the listserv.

 

What kinds of things are meant to be shared through the ListServ?

The purpose of the ListServ discussion groups is for you to be able to connect with your colleagues to share ideas and expertise. It is acceptable to post employment opportunities through the ListServ, but please do not post any Commercial messages advertising products or conferences which are in direct competition with CFHA. Those who post these types of advertisements on the ListServ will be removed.


 

FAMILIES, SYSTEMS & HEALTH ACCESS

What should I do if I’m having a problem accessing the journal Families, Systems & Health?

CFHA has a purchase contract with the American Psychological Association (APA), publisher of Families, Systems & Health. Members have the option of either receiving the print journal with on-line access, online access only, or they can decline as a free member benefit.

CFHA provides a list of new members and members who renewed after their membership has expired to APA on approximately a monthly bases. Depending on the timing of when the list is generated, processed, and the publishing deadline of the journal it can be up to two months before electronic access is available, and even longer before a print issue is received. Members receive all four issues for the given calendar year of the journal and have electronic access through 30 days following membership expiration (Dec, 31st).

CONFERENCE

When does conference registration normally open?

Registration for our Annual Conference opens on June 1st each year. Click HERE to view more information about our upcoming conference.

What types of conference scholarship opportunities are there?

Conference Scholarships are available to students who apply to volunteer for the CFHA Conference. In order to be considered, you must be a full-time student in a training program, college or university, and you must be available for the entire duration of the three-day conference. Check back at our conference webpage HERE to learn more about scholarship opportunities. 

Where can I view past conference resources (PowerPoints, videos, etc.)?

Conference resources from all past conferences are available to CFHA members only, and are available HERE. You must login with your membership username and password to view these resources.

How do I post a job on the CFHA Job Board?

            CFHA job postings are available for purchase for non-members HERE.

            If you are a member, you can post for free HERE.

I’ve paid for a job posting for the CFHA Job Board, but am not sure how to get my job posted—what should I do?

When you purchase a job posting, you will receive an invoice via email which contains a link to activate and edit your job posting.

How can I call to talk with a real person about an issue?

Our main phone number, 585-482-8210, is at our Business Office located in Rochester, NY which is not always staffed throughout the day but voicemails are normally returned within one business day.

Our membership and conference support offices are located in Colorado. For the most immediate response from the person best suited to respond to your issue is to email your issue to info@CFHA.net. If you prefer to talk to a person, CLICK HERE to access staff phone numbers.

Note that we are a small staff and there could be a delayed response due to meetings, travel, and events.
