| Description | : | Jordan Valley Community Health Center (JVCHC) is seeking a full-time Director for the Behavioral Health Department. This person is expected to maintain and expand the existing behavioral health services provided by the center. JVCHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves a primarily low-income population in Springfield, Missouri. | Qualifications/ Requirements | : | SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversee all aspects of the Behavioral Health Department and associated personnel, including care coordination across various JVCHC services.
2. Monitor and adjust behavioral health services, as indicated, based on financial parameters, clinical parameters, third-party payment standards, and / or the organizational vision.
3. Plan and complete program development and evaluation as necessary, in coordination with the Executive Director, Medical Director, and Dental Director.
4. Provide crisis management, individual and family psychological assessments and treatment to individuals referred by medical and dental providers. Work in close coordination and collaboration with these providers to fulfill the overall healthcare plan for patients.
5. Attend and participate in Board meetings, Administrative meetings, Quality Improvement meetings, and Provider meetings.
6. Write and submit grant applications for clinical services and research projects. Collaborate with other local agencies in grant applications.
7. Coordinate clinical training opportunities with local institutions to provide practicum training to graduate students in clinical psychology. Determine requisite skills to serve in this role and oversee the selection and evaluation of student trainees. Provide the Executive Director routine feedback on this collaboration. SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each specific duty satisfactorily. 1. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD preferred) and at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in primary care or similar medical setting. The successful candidate must have received their doctorate from an APA accredited program and completed an APA-approved internship.
2. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of clinical psychopharmacology, a biopsychosocial perspective on health, and behavioral medicine interventions. Must have knowledge and experience with diagnostic evaluations, brief interventions, evidence-supported therapy, and effective consultation skills.
3. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Spanish proficiency not required but such candidates are encouraged to apply.
4. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess or be in the process of obtaining / eligible for a Missouri State license as a Psychologist and Health Service Provider.
5. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Shall be able to establish effect relationships via telephone and personal contacts. Shall be able to follow directions and both accept and provide supervision.
6. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency with word processing and Microsoft Office programs required. Data analysis ability preferred. Will train successful candidate on use of electronic medical record.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Functions in accordance with Jordan Valley Community Health Center (JVCHC) Operational Guidelines and within his/her professional code of ethics.
2. Will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a primary care / dental setting that serves a predominately low-income population. Provides crisis intervention, individual, group, family and other mental health services, utilizing his or her experience and ability to meet the needs of the client and goals of treatments.
3. Within limits of experience, educational background and JVCHC time commitments, publicly presents educational material to promote community understanding of metal health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.
4. May carry a regular caseload, the size and nature of which is to be determined and modified over time as needed. Provides and/or coordinates a comprehensive follow-up to all clients for whom he/she has been responsible.
5. According to JVCHC guidelines, participates in staffing of clients to identify problems and establish goals and objectives for treatments and assumes management responsibilities for cases assigned.
6. Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of JVCHC.
7. Is sensitive and responsible to management needs, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant application, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc.
8. Participates in all required meetings.
9. Regularly participates in evaluation of self and assigned staff according to JVCHC Operational Guidelines.
10. Is responsive to all Quality Assurance procedures of JVCHC, cooperates with utilization review procedures, and follows established procedures, rules and regulations of the Clinical Records Departments.
11. Performs other special functions as may, from time to time, be outlined and attached hereto.
