Please join us on Friday, March 28th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Eastern Time for a free webinar to introduce a new resource to support providers in integrating primary care in a behavioral health organization.
The Behavioral Health Integration Capacity Assessment (BHICA) is designed to assist behavioral health organizations in assessing their ability to integrate primary care services. The BHICA allows behavioral health organizations to evaluate their current processes related to three approaches to integrated care: coordinate care; co-locate care; or build primary care capacity in-house. The tool was developed by The Lewin Group and The Institute for Healthcare Improvement under a contract with the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office.
The webinar will introduce the assessment tool, provide background on the development, and discuss how organizations can use the tool to enhance their integration approach. Nationally known integration experts Dr. Ben Miller and Mary Rainwater, who were essential in the development of the tool, will lead the call. Catherine Ryder, Executive Director at Tri-County Mental Health Services, will also join the call to discuss using the tool in a provider setting. The call will also include a participant question and answer section.
Leaders and providers who work in behavioral health organizations, such as community mental health centers, or health care organizations such as federally qualified health centers may be particularly interested in this webinar. Individuals engaged in designing new models of integrated care for vulnerable populations, such as behavioral health homes, may also be interested in attending. Organizations or associations that work with individuals in these organizations may also be interested in learning more about this new tool.
