Overview: As the country moves closer towards implementing health reform through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), it is important for all interested healthcare stakeholders to understand how certain aspects of policy were developed in how you can have some influence in policymaking moving forward. With respect to integrated care, there were a number of programs in the Affordable Care Act which provide an opportunity for more integrated care such as health homes and accountable care organizations (ACOs). This presentation will discuss integration in the current healthcare policy landscape.

As the field continues to demonstrate the impact of integration through research and demonstration projects, the recognition that policy must change to accommodate a new model of care withstands.
