This is a Medical Family Therapy Doctoral Level internship in an Internal Medicine Residency program. This internship will provide clinical experience and training for a future Behavioral Medicine Faculty Member. Applicants will provide clinical work, education, and research, based on the bio-psycho-social model of care. Interns will gain experience collaborating with residents, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and MFT master’s students, as part of the joint UNL/UNMC Medical Family Therapy certificate program. Interns will also be part of a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team at Midtown Clinic. Approved supervision and mentoring will be provided. The internship will provide a unique opportunity to learn about a career in behavioral medicine as part of a PCMH and an Internal Medicine Residency Program. The intern will function as a full-time behavioral medicine clinician-educator for the duration of this full-time 12 month internship. The position would start July 1st, 2014.
